History

The Information Technology Interest Group has been established as the technology arm of the CPCU Society for as long as any of us can recall. Past chairpersons have included professionals from a technology service provider, a law firm, commercial underwriting, and information technology, among others. In addition to those roles, IT IG Committee members have backgrounds as claim adjusters, ISO staff, insurance service providers, agents, brokers, technology consulting group staff, financial services staff, Institutes’ directors, and even IBM Corp staff. Many of these persons have moved on to advanced leadership roles as Chapter or IG Governors, Committee Chairpersons, and even as President of The Institutes.

The major challenge faced by the IT IG is finding ways to integrate group members’ knowledge and talents to help insurance professionals and IT professionals learn from each other, enhance communication, and create collaborative partnerships that best serve their employers and, ultimately, society.
